But not today. If I start from the beginning it won’t make any sense. Trust me.
I have to start wherever means the most. So I’ll start there.
I looked up and squinted a little as the sun grazed my face and saw that the clouds were particularly playful today. Yet again, they were playing charades with each other-mocking my guesses as to what they were pretending to be. Today was a little different though, the wind had the upper hand in this game. It was usually gentle in cloud charades but it was skillfully whispering its wishes to the wisps today and winning. I was so sure that I saw a lion and a platypus and then I looked away for a moment and realized maybe that wasn’t what I had seen at all.
I was slightly distracted for a moment by a rogue chicken that had escaped our coop, clucking and pecking around by my feet. I reached down to pet it which ended up turning into the slightest feather feel as it danced off from me with its disco chicken moves. No matter, I had my mind on something else now. I started toward my very favorite place in the entire world.
The woods. For the woods enveloped my very favorite thing in the world, keeping it safe…keeping it sacred…keeping it secret.
